Remember to bring a swimsuit, towel, sunglasses, hat or cap, and sunscreen if needed.
Toilets and showers are available at the departure point.

Our trips include all necessary equipment (fins, mask, snorkel & wetsuit) as well as certification fees in the price.

Program

DAY 1

Meet-up is at 8:30 AM directly at the public beach of PK18.
We'll start with the formalities and move on to theory based on freediving physiology and relaxation exercises.
The session will end in confined water, with static apnea practice and safety procedures.

Then at 1:30 PM, meet at the boat (see Tahiti Freediving on Google Maps).
You’ll be a small group of up to 4 people onboard.
We’ll head to our best dive sites, located just 5–10 minutes by boat from the marina.
This session will focus on relaxation techniques, equalization practice, and free immersion.

DAY 2

Meet at 8:30 AM at the boat for an open water session focused on constant weight dives, rescue exercises, and buddy system protocols.
This session emphasizes refining all techniques learned so far.

Later, we’ll move to a confined water session to practice dynamic apnea, with a focus on body position and finning technique.
You’ll also continue practicing buddy procedures and rescue drills.

Finally, you’ll complete the online written exam.

AIDA 2 is the basic FREEDIVER BEGINNER course and the perfect introduction to the fascinating world of freediving. It’s the most rewarding way to start your journey, allowing you to dive safely and meaningfully.

The AIDA 2 course includes all content from the AIDA 1 level, so there’s no need to take the introductory course before starting your beginner certification.

You'll begin by discovering what freediving is all about: relaxation and body awareness. Then, you’ll move on to breathing and apnea exercises, before learning fundamental techniques and water safety skills.

With this course, you will become a certified freediver.

Prerequisites
To enroll in the AIDA 2 course, you must be able to:

  • Swim 200 meters non-stop without fins, or swim 300 meters using a mask, fins, and snorkel.

Certification Requirements for AIDA 2

  • Constant weight dive to 12–20 meters

  • 2-minute static apnea

  • 40-meter dynamic apnea

  • Free immersion without a depth requirement

Please note
For some students, achieving the required skills may take more time and additional sessions. Freediving is a recreational activity — it’s not about pushing your limits, but about
enjoying the experience.
